Day 1 Santa Cruz
On arrival at Santa Cruz, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for 2 nights. Enjoy a brief sightseeing tour of Santa Cruz, which is well known for its mixture of colonial and modern architecture. (If you arrive too late in the day, then this sightseeing can take place on your return from Samaipata the next day).Overnight at selected hotel.

Day 2 Santa Cruz
Today you will explore the enigmatic remains of the UNESCO Site of Samaipata. Located in the eastern foothills of the Bolivian Andes, the gigantic rock art is believed to represent one of the most unique examples of its kind in pre-Columbia America. Overnight at selected hotel.

Day 3 Santa Cruz-Sucre
You will be transferred to the airport for a flight to Sucre (40 minutes, not included). On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Afternoon city tour of Sucre which is the constitutional capital of Bolivia. You can choose the highlights of Sucre between: the Cathedral, the churches and cloisters of La Recoleta, San Felipe and Guadalupe, the House of Liberty, where Simon Bolivar signed the Declaration of Independence, the Freedom Bell at San Francisco cloister, the second oldest university in South America, San Francisco Xavier, as well as the university Museum offer fine examples of anthropological research, colonial and modern art. (3 Hour tour). Overnight at selected hotel.

Day 4 Sucre
Today you will visit the Sunday market at Tarabuco (only on Sundays). Famous for its traditional weaving and rich color. Spend the day here, mingling amongst the locals as they flock to buy and sell, maybe even picking up a bargain or two amongst the stalls of beautiful handmade textiles. Return to Sucre by mid afternoon. Overnight at selected hotel.

Day 5 Sucre-Potosi
Leave Sucre in the morning by road for Potosi (approximate journey time 3 hours), a source of silver during colonial times. The rich mountain towers over the city, and according to legend, it has produced enough silver to build a solid silver bridge from Potosi to Madrid. Visit the Cathedral, the church of San Francisco and Santa Teresa convent. The Casa de la Moneda or Royal Mint is closed on Mondays. Overnight at selected hotel.

Day 6 Potosi-Uyuni
Morning visit to a local cooperative mine. After the visit continue over un-paved roads to Uyuni (approximate journey time 5 to 6 hours). The Salar de Uyuni is the highest and largest Salt Lake in the world (10,000 square km) and is surrounded by an impressive panorama. On the edge, you can see the local people extracting salt with lost in time methods. Dinner and overnight at Salt Hotel (built of salt).

Day 7 Uyuni-Salt Lake-Oruro
After breakfast you will visit a local handicraft salt factory in Colchani. Observe the cold water springs and ways of salt recollection. Visit Isla Pescado famous for its giant cactus and fauna. Lunch at Isla Pescado. After the visits return to Uyuni. Day use at Hotel Tambo Aymara or Girasoles de Uyuni. Transfer to the train station and embarkation on the Expreso del Sur Uyuni-Oruro: Train depart 12.05am arrive 7am the next morning.

Day 8 Oruro-La Paz
Upon arrival in Oruro, transfer to the bus station with breakfast. Public bus from Oruro to La Paz (aprox. 4 hrs). After arrival in La Paz transfer to your hotel. Arrive around 12.30pm. . Overnight in La Paz.

Day 9 La Paz
Morning city sightseeing with Moon Valley. The city of La Paz and its surroundings can transport you to a mysterious past where any corner, any street, is a hidden treasure where adventure begins; a living history which treasures the pre Hispanic times with all their traditions and magic rites on its streets. The indigenous, colonial and modern areas, Indian Market, Witch Doctor's Market & breathtaking panoramas are all framed by the majestic "Illimani" mountain. Visit the Moon Valley, a clay formation resembling the face of the Moon. (3 to 3 1/2 hrs.). Overnight at selected hotel.

Day 10 La Paz-Tiwanaku-Utama
Morning visit to the Tiwanaku ruins: The magnificent ruins of Bolivia and one of the oldest civilizations in the Americas. The Sun gate, the temple of Kalasasaya and the pyramid of Akapana are the sample of a glorious past. Tiwanaku culture was an agrarian based economy with an estimated population of 115.000 Aymaras. The state controlled agriculture produced the surplus wealth to support the urban center and administrative system. They were outstanding in agriculture, hydraulic, architecture & medicine, as well as in social organization. Due to an economical crisis caused by a long dry season, Tiwanaku collapsed around 1.000 AD. (5 Hrs. Tour). Box lunch included. After the visit continue to Huatajata Harbor on the shores of Lake Titicaca). Stay for 2 nights at the Inca Utama Hotel & Spa. During your stay at the hotel you will visit the different exhibits and projects at the hotel complex. At the handicrafts and folkloric area, meet the Limachi Brothers, builders of the RA II and TIGRIS for Thor Heyerdhal's epic expeditions; see a full size reproduction of RA II and the famous ABORA II. Visit the Altiplano Museum and experience the Mystic World of the Kallawayas, natural medicine doctors and coca leave fortune tellers. Overnight at Inca Utama Hotel & Spa.

Day 11 Utama-Huatajata-Utama
After breakfast board a hydrofoil and start your Lake Titicaca experience. Visit the Urus Iruitos Floating Island and Quewaya sustainable project. Continue to Moon Island. Visit the Inak Uyu Sun Virgins temple, Hydrofoil cruise to Copacabana, visit the Shrine of the Dark Virgin and town. Arrival to Sun Island. Visit the Inca Stairways and the Sacred Fountain believed to give eternal youth and Happiness. Lunch at Uma Kollu panoramic restaurant while enjoying nice landscapes of the lake. In the afternoon return to Huatajata.Night visit the "Alajpacha" native observatory, where given clear skies you can watch the stars and understand the Andes Cosmovision. Overnight at Inca Utama Hotel & Spa.

Day 12 Utama-Airport La Paz
At leisure until your transfer to the airport in La Paz for you flight home. You can extend your stay in Bolivia or continue to Puno in Peru.

Additional nights available

Flight from Santa Cruz to Sucre currently costs $60 + taxes per person

Please note: during the rainy season November-March the Salt Lake Uyuni may be under water and its visit be restricted or totally impossible.

Airport taxes are not included approx. $25 per person.

For an additional cost tour can end in Puno Peru on last day.

Visa is need for Bolivia and is not included. Obtained at border and costs $160 per person.
