Itinerary
Day 1 Oslo
Upon arrival to Oslo self transfer to your centrally located hotel. The Norwegian capital is beautifully situated at the head of the Oslo Fjord and surrounded by forested ridges. Oslo offers many well-known sights such as the Vigeland Sculpture Park, the Viking Ship Museum and the Munch Museum. Overnight at the Rica Oslo Hotel or similar.

Day 2 Oslo-Lillehammer
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning departure by train to Lillehammer. On your way you will pass Hamar and might be able to get a glimpse of the "Vikingskipet". The well-known ice-skating-ring built for the 1994 Winter Olympics and has the shape of a turned-over Viking ship. You will have the afternoon in Lillehammer at your own leisure. We recommend a visit at Maihaugen Open Air Museum, which tells the story of people in the Gudbrandsdalen Valley the last 300 years, of life between the wars in the inland town of Lillehammer and of homes and domestic environments in the 20th century. Also recommendable is a visit at the Olympic Museum and the Olympic Arena (Lysgardsbakken). If you overnight in Lillehammer on a Wednesday or Saturday night don't miss the Huderfossen Winter Park, unique in Europe, located in Hunderfossen. (Entrance tickets not included). Overnight at the Rica Victoria Hotel or simlar.

Day 3 Lillehammer-Trondheim
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure by train from Lillehammer to Trondheim. The 5 hour journey on the Dovre Railway will take you through the Gudbrandsdal Valley and across the Dovre Mountain to Trondheim, Norway's third largest city. The city was founded by Viking King Olav Tryggvason in 997, and occupies a special place in Norwegian culture and history. Trondheim was Norway's first capital and continues to be the coronation city where Norway's Kings from Harald Harfagre (10th century) to King Harald V (1991) have been crowned and blessed. We recommend a visit to the Nidaros Cathedral, built over the grave of St. Olav. Next to the cathedral you will find the Archbishop's Palace, the oldest secular building in Scandinavia. Other sights of interest are the Kristiansten Fortress, Monk's Island, the Trondelag Open Air Museum and Stiftsgarden, the Royal Residence in Trondheim. We also recommend a stroll in Bakklandet, located on the east bank of the river Nid. Here you will find old wooden buildings which were formerly worker's dwellings but are now partly restored as homes or charming shops and restaurants. Overnight at the Scandic Solsiden hotel or similar.

Day 4 Trondheim-Cruise Hurtigruten
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning departure with the Hurtigruten for a cruise along the spectacular Norwegian coastline. One night and one full day on board this traditional postal steamer. Accommodation on board Hurtigruten in an outside cabin.

Day 5 Bergen
Breakfast on board the Hurtigruten. Afternoon arrival to Bergen, Norway's second largest city. We recommend a visit to some of Bergen's many attractions as for example the Hanseatic Bryggen Harbor, the Floibanen Funicular, which takes you up to a height of 320 meters above sea level where you are presented with a great view over the city, Grieg's home Troldhaugen, the Fish and Flower Market or the Bergen Aquarium. Overnight at the Scandic Bergen City or similar.

Day 6 Bergen-Norway in a Nutshell-Oslo
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for a magical excursion to explore "Norway in a Nutshell". The journey between Bergen and Oslo has been qualified many times by international guides and authors to be the most beautiful and fascinating railway route in the world. The last one, Gary Warner, used to publish his favorite train trips in the Chicago Tribune. You would never travel at such altitude in Europe, with a highest spot at 1 222m above sea-level. At Myrdal, a connecting train awaits you, toward Flam. Then you will have the opportunity to board a 2 hours cruise through the Sognefjord, belonging to the world heritage list of UNESCO. Upon arrival to Oslo self transfer to your hotel. Overnight at the Rica Oslo Hotel.

Day 7 Oslo-End of Tour
Breakfast at the hotel. Self transfer to the airport. You can extend your stay in Oslo or continue to Copenhagen or Stockholm.
