Itinerary

Day 1 Bogota
Upon arrival you will be met and taken to your hotel. Remainder of the day is at leisure to begin your exploration of this charming capital. Overnight in Bogota.

Day 2 Bogota
During the morning you will have a view of the city, visiting Bolivar’s Square where the most important buildings of the city are located, such as: the Cathedral, the Palace of Justice, the house of the President and the National Capital. Continue your journey through the Colonial District of La Candelaria and visit the Gold Museum with it’s collection of 30.000 pre-Colombian ornaments, after this visit you will continue to Bolivar’s Country House where the Liberator Simon Bolivar lived. Finally you will take a cable car to the top of Monserrate that lords over Bogota where you will admire a wonderful view of the city. Tour lasts about 4 hours. Afternoon is at leisure. Overnight in Bogota.

Day 3 Bogota
After breakfast you will be taken on a tour thorough the residential district of the city, taking the Panamericana highway, passing by some typical villages to reach to Zipaquira where the Salt Cathedral is located for a visit. Tour lasts about 4 hours. Afternoon is at leisure. Overnight in Bogota.

Day 4 Bogota-Pereira
After breakfast you will be taken to the airport for your flight to Pereira (not included). Upon arrival you will be met and taken to your hotel. Remainder of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Pereira.

Day 5 Pereira
During the morning transfer to the Chapolera Farm, located 20 minutes from Armenia where you will have a cultural journey of the history of coffee. Here you will have the opportunity to experience among the farmers the way they work and also help them, with a didactic instruction of the growing, the collection and procedure of the seeds to become to be the best coffee in the world. You will have the opportunity to be dress up as the coffee workers of this farm and work along with them in their daily labor. You will finish this visit with a total knowledge about the history and final procedure of the packaging and exportation of coffee. During this tour you will go back home with the experience of peeling of the seeds, the toasting and grinding of the coffee, just as the ancient people of this region. You will continue this visit entering to the live butterfly house where your will admire more than 25 examples of this specimen, also you will visit the Botanic Garden. Overnight in Pereira.

Day 6 Pereira
Today you will visit the natural reserve of the Cocora Valley, home of the national tree the Wax Palm. You will take a tour through the beautiful nature of the region either walking or on horseback. Enjoy an amazing lunch of the specialty of the region, trout and continue visiting Salento, the oldest town of the region visit. You will see the handcraft factories and admire the colonial architecture. Overnight in Pereira.

Day 7 Pereira-End of Tour
After breakfast you will be taken to the airport for your flight to Bogota (not included). You can extend you stay in Bogota or continue to Cartagena or Medellin.
