Itinerary

Day 1 Reykjavik
Upon arrival to Reykjavik Flybus transfer to your centrally located hotel. We suggest a stroll down the city’s main shopping street Laugavegur or visit the Einar Jonsson Sculpture Museum. In the evening you will enjoy a Northern Lights tour. The Northern Lights, also known as the Aurora Borealis, are a spectacular natural phenomenon, often seen dancing around in fantastic colors across the Icelandic night sky. On this tour you will search for optimal viewing conditions. This tour is weather dependent and sightings are not guaranteed. Overnight in Reykjavik.

Day 2 Reykjavik-Golden Circle-Reykjavik
After breakfast at your hotel, your guide will meet you at 9:30am. Today you will experience a trio of natural wonders along the Golden Circle Route in South Iceland. Highlights include the breathtaking Gullfoss waterfall, which is often frozen mid-cascade during winter; the active Geysir geothermal area of bubbling mud pools, hot springs and spouting geysers; and Thingvellir National Park (UNESCO World Heritage Site) Iceland’s greatest historical site. Thingvellir is also of tremendous geological interest, as it is the visible location of the mid-Atlantic Ridge where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates meet. Tonight enjoy a traditional Christmas Buffet at the Satt Restaurant, located at the Hotel Natura. The true yuletide spirit is served with a deluxe gourmet Christmas buffet of distinctive heritage dishes based on local and Nordic ingredients. Overnight in Reykjavik.

Day 3 Reykjavik
This morning is at your leisure. Perhaps to enjoy an indulgent visit to the Soley Natura Spa at the Hotel Reykjavik Natura (included in package price). This afternoon, enjoy a guided Christmas-themed walking and tasting tour of downtown Reykjavik. What better way to get into the spirit of the season than strolling around the city and visiting several unique restaurants with a fun and knowledgeable local guide by your side. During this Reykjavik Christmas experience, you’ll gain insight into Icelandic holiday traditions old and new, as well the history, art, architecture, culture and cuisine of the capital city. Wander through the beautifully-decorated city center, twinkling with festive holiday lights. Overnight in Reykjavik.
