This tour is for families with children of 6 and older. This multi-activity program is based on 7 nights in Reykjavik using family friendly accommodation in different comfort and price categories. It’s slow travel at a family friendly pace.

Itinerary

Day 1 Reykjavik
Upon arrival Flybus transfer to your hotel. Remainder of the day is at leisure to begin your exploration of the cosmopolitan capital, Reykjavik. Overnight in Reykjavik.

Day 2 Reykjavik-Horseback Riding-Reykjavik
Start your Viking Challenge with a private 3 hour customized family friendly city tour to introduce you to Iceland’s capital. After a light lunch at a local riding center you’ll enjoy a 30 minutes horseback riding tour in the lava fields outside Reykjavik. Visit the Viking village and Bessastadir, the home of the Icelandic president. Overnight in Reykjavik.

Day 3 Reykjavik-Fishing Trip-Reykjavik
The whole family will enjoy a fishing trip out into Faxafldi Bay and the best part is that your catch will be prepared for you on board. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight in Reykjavik.

Day 4 Reykjavik-Biking Tour-Reykjavik
In the morning you can visit a local swimming pool or some of the cities excellent small museums with your Reykjavik Welcome Card. In the afternoon, you’ll have a private 3-4 hour bike tour which takes you to the lighthouse and large bird pond of the Seltjarnarnes peninsula. Overnight in Reykjavik.

Day 5 Reykjavik
After breakfast full day at leisure. Explore Reykjavik with your 72 hour Welcome Card or book some optional bus excursion or activity tour. Overnight in Reykjavik.

Day 6 Reykjavik-Whale Watching-Blue Lagoon-Reykjavik
Whale & bird watching cruise in the morning, and in the afternoon you’ll visit the famous Blue Lagoon.Bring bathing suit and towel. Overnight in Reykjavik.

Day 7 Reykjavik-Biking in the Capital of Hot Springs-Reykjavik
After breakfast drive to Hveragerdi which is located just 30 minutes east of Reykjavik and known as the flower and greenhouse village of South Iceland, positioned on an active volcanic zone. You will explore this pretty place and beautiful surrounding nature on a private family friendly tour by bike and on foot. Visit the geothermal park where you will witness the range from small gurgling hot springs to vibrant super heated pools of water and steam. You will get the opportunity to boil an egg in one of many hot springs and eat a bread that has been baked in the hot earth. After an exciting and fun tour enjoy a relaxing bath in the geothermal outdoor swimming pool of Hveragerdi. Packed lunch and transfer to/from Hveragerdi included. Overnight in Reykjavik.

Day 8 Reykjavik-End of Tour
After breakfast Flybus transfer to the airport. You can extend your stay in Reykjavik or continue to Greenland, Faeroe Islands or Scandinavia.

All day tours include hotel transfers. We supply all specialized equipment for sea fishing, biking and horseback riding.

Special services at the Hotel Natura-located near to the Perlan panorama terrace with walking trails, forest, Viking saga museum, artificial geyser hot springs and cafeteria with excellent ice cream selection-Walking distance to Bowling Palace & Game Arcade- Hotel features bedtime stories free of charge every Thursday. Everybody is welcome-*Amazing Iceland: a spectacular film show that captures the magic of Iceland. Every day at 5pm and 7pm-The Reykjavik Nautholtsvik beach is only a few minutes walk from the hotel-Own indoor swimming pool and hot pot jacuzzi (free of charge for hotel guests)

There is a possibility that some of the nature attractions around Iceland might charge an entrance fee during the trip. These entrance fees are not included in the tour price and need to be paid by all tour members additionally on the spot, when entering any of these nature sites. Locations, amount of entrance fee, form of payment and other details are not known at the present time and are subject to change.

Day 3-5 include 72 hour Reykjavik Welcome Card that gives you free entrance to the city’s swimming pools, many museums, the Farm Animal Zoo & family park, the boat trip to Videy Island and free transportation on the city buses to explore the capital on your own.
