Itinerary

Day 1 Bratislava
Upon arrival to the Vienna or Bratislava airport you will be met and taken to your centrally located hotel. Later you will be taken on a 2 hour walking tour of the Old Town of the city. Traditional dinner will be served in a local restaurant. Overnight in Bratislava. Hotel Crowne Plaza or similar.

Day 2 Bratislava-Carpathian Mountains Area-Bratislava
After breakfast you will driven through the scenic small Carpathian Mountains, where the largest wine region of Slovakia is located. You will also see the well preserved Red Stone Castle which was built in the 14th century. Continue with a visit to a local Habanic pottery studio to see how this local handicraft is made. You will of course be taken to one of the many vineyards in the region for wine tasting. Back in Bratislava you will visit the Slovak Center of Handicrafts. In the evening you will enjoy a traditional Slovak Folklore show. All regions of Slovakia will be presented by its folk traditions, food tasting and live folk dancing. Overnight in Bratislava.

Day 3 Bratislava-Banska Stiavnica
After breakfast you will drive to central Slovakia to visit one of the loveliest cities of Slovakia, Banska Stiavnica. Situated on steep slopes, which were once rich with deposits of gold and silver. The highlight of your tour here is the Calvary, visible from top of the hill for miles around. A tree lined trail leads to a small triple-domed chapel with the famous Baroque Panel Painting that is located inside. The trail then winds up the hill to the highest chapel where you can peer through the entrance gate at more baroque panels or take in the stunning view of the lovely countryside. In the evening you will have time to visit the nearby spa town of Sklene Teplice and take some treatments. Dinner and overnight Hotel Gran Matej in Banska Stiavnica.

Day 4 Banska-Stiavnica-Banska Bystrica-High Tatras
After breakfast the tour continues to the historic town of Banska Bystrica. Your tour of the city will include a walk around the Main Square. Continue to the High Tatra Mountain area and visit the village of Zdiar, an impressive village under the Belianske Tatras that was first inhabited in the 17th century by Goral settlers. You will see the beautiful and colorful houses and charming courtyards of the area. Traditional Koliba dinner in a typical wooden restaurant will be served this evening. Overnight in the High Tatras at the Hotel Patria or similar.

Day 5 High Tatras-Levoca-Spis Castle-High Tatras
This morning you will visit the Medieval town of Levoca. Your tour includes a visit to see the tallest wooden alter in the world and the lovely Town Hall. Continue via Spissky Stvrtok and a visit to the Gothic church in Spisska Sobota and see the largest castle ruins complex in Central Europe the famous Spis Castle. Overnight in the High Tatras.

Day 6 High Tatras-Stara-Luka
After breakfast visit the Open-Air Museum in Pribylina. Continue to the village of Vlkolinec which is on the UNESCO World cultural Heritage List. You will see a collection of wooden houses and samples of local folk architecture and traditions. Proceed to the Gingerbread houses in the village of Cicmany. The houses in this charming village are all painted on the outside. Late afternoon arrival to a farmhouse in the village of Stara Luka for dinner and overnight.

Day 7 Stara-Luka-End of Tour
After breakfast you will be taken to the airport or rail station in Bratislava or Vienna. You can extend your stay in Slovakia or continue to Vienna, Prague or Budapest.
