The capital city of Belarus is situated in a picturesque place on the banks of the Svisloch River. Minsk was first settled over 900 years ago in 1067. Not many real ancient monuments have remained in Minsk, much of old Minsk was razed to the ground during World War II. The city of Minsk today is a city of wide streets, modern and old architectural ensembles, fountains, shady parks and green boulevards.

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive Minsk
Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your centrally located hotel. Remainder of the day is at leisure to begin your exploration of the interesting Belorussian capital. Overnight in Minsk.

Day 2 Minsk
After breakfast you will be taken on a Minsk city sightseeing tour. You will see Independence Square with the House of Government (1929-1933), the “Red” Krasny Roman Catholic Church (1908), Victory Square with its 38 meters gray obelisk and eternal flame commemorating the heroes of World War II, The National Library building, Troitskoye Predmestye (Trinity Suburb) restored buildings of the 19th century, one of the oldest areas in Minsk, Afghan Monument on the island of tears, Upper town” (now the Liberty Square region) with two main churches of two main confessions in Belarus, the Orthodox Holy Spirit Cathedral (1642), l and the Catholic Saint Virgin Mary Cathedral and St. Peter and Paul’s Cathedral (1611).The city tour gives a good opportunity to enjoy a special hospitable atmosphere of Minsk, to admire its surprisingly clean, and beautiful streets and avenues, and to learn the history, culture and traditions of the Belorussian people. Overnight in Minsk.

Day 3 Minsk
After breakfast you will be taken on an excursion to the “Dudutki” Mansion and museum (25 miles from Minsk), A wonderful reconstruction of household traditions and crafts of the 19th and early 20th centuries. You will see the old mansion, try home-made cheese and butter, bake your own loaf of bread, try your abilities as a potter and become a blacksmith or a miller. Climb the old wind-mill and make sure to taste Belorussian samogon (home-made vodka) made in a real country home-brew with Belorussian traditional snacks). Have lunch in “Korchma”, cooked of products manufactured in Dudutki in full accordance with old Belorussian traditions. Visit the nice farm with many animals and birds. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight in Minsk.

Day 4 Minsk-End of Tour
After breakfast you will be taken to the airport or rail station. You may extend your stay in Belarus or continue on to Poland, Lithuania or Russia.
