Itinerary

Day 1 Reykjavik
Upon arrival Flybus transfer to your hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure to explore the charming capital of Iceland. Overnight in Reykjavik.

Day 2 Reykjavik.
Today enjoy a 3 hour guided Reykjavik City Tour in the morning. The rest of the day is free for exploring and shopping. There are optional Northern Lights evening tours offered. Overnight in Reykjavik.

Day 3 Reykjavik-Golden Circle Tour-Reykjavik
Drive over the highland plateau of Hellisheidi, passing the geothermal town of Hveragerdi, known for the green house culture. Onwards you will explore the other worldly hot spring area of Geysir, multicolored pools of water and mud. Strokkur, the Great Geysir’s little brother, is spouting to a height of about 25 meters and erupts at about 5-7 minute intervals. After lunch (included) drive to the mighty Gullfoss (the Golden Waterfall), perhaps the most beautiful in the country. Walk around Gullfoss Falls, where the river Hvita tumbles 32 meters in a double cascade. If weather & road conditions allow, stop on the way back to Reykjavik at Pingvellir National Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its fascinating natural beauty and spectacular geological features. The Great Atlantic rift is clearly visible; a rift that is slowly pulling Iceland apart along tectonic plates and you can literally walk between the American and Eurasian continental plates. (tour lasts from 9am until 4pm. Overnight in Reykjavik.

Day 4 Reykjavik-New Years Gala
515pm transfer from your hotel to the Perlan restaurant where you will enjoy a festive 4-course gala dinner. After the main course guests will be picked up by guides for the evening Reykjavik Bonfire & Christmas Lights Tour where you celebrate with Icelanders at the bonfires that are situated all over the city. The tour takes about two hours. After the tour return to the Perlan restaurant for dessert. At midnight, with sparkling wine, celebrate the New Year by watching the fireworks from the panoramic balcony. Afterwards dance the night away. Transfer back to hotels around 2am (transfers start at 12.30am for those who want to go home early). Overnight in Reykjavik.

Day 5 Reykjavik-Reykjanes Peninsula and Blue Lagoon
At 10:30am leave Reykjavik and explore the Reykjavik peninsula with its dramatic sea shores, fascinating geology, moonscapes, lava fields and fishing villages. The guided tour continues to the bridge over the continents and to the light house at the edge of the Reykjanes Peninsula. After a light lunch, that is included, reach the Blue Lagoon, an oasis in the lava that owes its existence to a nearby geothermal power plant, looming large over the aqua tinted waters. Stop for 2 hours for a refreshing bath or a swim in the pleasantly warm mineral-rich water, reputed for its healing properties. Return to Reykjavik around 7pm. Evening and dinner on your own. Overnight in Reykjavik.

Day 6 Reykjavik-End of Tour
After breakfast Flybus transfer to the airport. You can extend your stay in Iceland or continue to Greenland, Faroe Islands or Scandinavia.
