Piestany is one of the oldest spas in Central Europe dating back to 1549. For many years the spas were owned by the Erdody family, who in 1822 built the first bathhouses which are still in operation and are protected Napoleonic Spas. Currently this modern and fashionable spa covers 40 hectares, partially in the center of Piestany but mainly located on an island formed on the Vah River. Piestany is a typical spa town with a unique atmosphere and a busy social life. Features of the town include the statue of a man breaking a crutch over his knee and the covered colonnade bridge, designed by the famous Slovak architect Emil Belus. The spa and accommodation resort is situated on the grounds of a beautiful park on the Spa Island.

The deluxe Thermia Palace hotel is a beautifully renovated Art-Nouveau gem built in 1912 and nesting in the picturesque environment of Spa Island. Located on the site of thermal springs and healing mud, directly connected to the Irma Health Spa. Immerse yourself in the unique mud and mirror pool in the luxurious spa premises. The hotel features 111 luxurious, air-conditioned rooms, including 15 suites, all equipped with bathroom, flat-screen TV, Pay-TV, internet access, 2 telephones, safe, tea and coffee set, minibar, hairdryer and bathrobe. Rooms with disabled access available. Grand Restaurant, Cafe Alexander with summer terrace, American Bar Joker and Ferdinand Salon.

2 treatments per day as suggested by physician (except Sundays)

City Spa tax not included-must be paid directly to the hotel: approx. $4 per person per day

Treatments include: Thermal mineral baths, partial classical massage, sauna, whirlpool or whole body bubble bath, underwater massage, Scottish sprays and stepping bath.

Many other treatments and medical services are available at a surcharge.
