This tour combines South Greenland with its Arctic, yet lush countryside with the Viking history of the North Atlantic. Start in Reykjavik by exploring the Golden Circle including a trip to Thingvellir, the ancient site of the Viking Parliament. Continue to South Greenland where you will get a chance to stay in the quaint town of Narsarsuaq.

Day 1 Reykjavik
Upon arrival private transfer to your hotel. Remainder of the day is at leisure. in charming Reykjavik. Overnight Hotel Reykjavik Centrum.

Day 2 Reykjavik
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning city sightseeing of Reykjavik including the town of Hafnarfjordur where you visit the Fish Market, the open air museum Arbaer, one of the outdoor swimming pools and the towering Hallgrim's Church. Pass through the old town, the harbor, the summit-meeting house Hofdi and the House of Parliament. Afternoon at leisure in Reykjavik. Optional excursion to Blue Lagoon (not included) Alternatively; pay a visit to one of the many local geothermal swimming pools, a perfect way to meet the Icelanders. Overnight Hotel Reykjavik Centrum.

Day 3 Reykjavik
Breakfast at hotel. Today's excursion is one of the most popular day trips in Iceland. The Golden Circle area where you experience the majestic waterfalls at Gullfoss, the erupting hot springs at Geysir, the national park of Thingvellir and the greenhouse village of Hveragerdi. Fish buffet dinner at the restaurant Reykyavik, one of the oldest restaurants in town. Overnight Hotel Reykjavik Centrum.

Day 4 Reykjavik-Narsarsuaq.
Breakfast at hotel. Taxi transfer to the Reykjavik Domestic Airport for your Air Iceland flight to INarsarsuaq. Transfer to the nearby Hotel Narsarsuaq for check-in and information meeting. Dinner and overnight Hotel Narsarsuaq.

Day 5 Narsarsuaq
Breakfast at the hotel. Start the day with a guided walk around the settlement so you can get acquainted with the area. Erik the Red was the Viking who settled in Greenland and gave the huge island its name. Remains of his farm Brattahild can be found across Erik's Fjord from Narsarsuaq which is also the site of the first Christian church built on the North American continent. Day at leisure in Narsarsuaq for optional excursions. Overnight Hotel Narsarsuaq.

Day 6 Narsarsuaq
Breakfast at the hotel. Day at leisure in Narsarsuaq for optional excursions. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel Narsarsuaq.

Day 7 Narsarsuaq-Reykjavik
Breakfast at the hotel. Air Iceland flight from Narsarsuaq to the Reyjjavik Domestic Airport. Upon arrival self transfer to your hotel. Overnight Hotel Reykjavik Centrum.

Day 8 Reykjavik-End of Tour
After breakfast Flybus to the airport. You can extend your stay in Reykjavik or continue to the Faeroe Islands or Scandinavia.

Optional excursions in Narsarsuaq-Can be pre booked:

Eric the Red's Viking Ruins-3 hours-DKK 650 per person-Cross the Eric Fjord by boat and go ashore at the sheep breeding settlement Qassiarsuk, situated on the very spot where Eric the Red in the year 985 settled and named his farm Brattahild. You will visit the ruins of Eric's farm and some nearby Eskimo ruins.

The Village of Igaliku-8 Hours-DKK 1500 per person including lunch-You will travel by boat through the ice filled Eric's Fjord to Itilleq where you will go ashore next to some of the biggest agricultural fields in South Greenland. You will walk 3km to Igliku (transportation can be arranged at a surcharge), a beautiful village where the ruins of the Viking's Cathedral and the Bishop's Farm are situated. After lunch at a small cafeteria you will walk through the village back to Itilleq and then by boat to Narsarsuaq.

Qooroq Ice Fjord-3 Hours-DKK 980 per person-The Greenland Ice Cap produces 250 million tons of icebergs every summer and their last journey begin when they break off the glaciers. One of these glaciers is the Qooroq Glacier. Cruise between the icebergs towards the glacier.

Hike to the Ice Cap-8 Hours-DKK 800 per person including lunch-This excursion demands that you are able to walk at least 6km in mountain terrain. You will go by bus as far as the roads leads and continue by foot through the "Flower Valley" where the colorful sub arctic flora can be experienced. Enjoy lunch at the top of a 300m high mountain from where you will have a fantastic view over the glacier and the Ice Cap.

Tasiusaq & Kayaking-8 hours-To be booked only locally on request. Price depends on group size-Boat transfer in RIB boats from Narsarsuaq to Qassiarsuk. Visit to the Viking ruins followed by 4x4 trip to Tasiusaq, where seven people live in almost complete isolation near the Sermilik Fjord. Lunch in Tasiusaq and time to explore the area on your own. In the afternoon, kayak excursion in the Iceberg Bay. This is a 2-hour sea kayaking trip suitable for beginners, among icebergs in one of the safest and best places to kayak in Greenland.

Short Hike to the Ridge-3 hours-400 DKK per person-After a bus ride to the start of the ridge where you will begin your walk seeing a large variety of flowers and plants. From the top of the ridge you will have an amazing view of the Flower Valley, river, fjord and Narsarsuaq Glacier.

All prices of boat excursions are listed as start/end Narsarsuaq Harbor, which is situated approx. 1 mile from the hotel or about a 15 minute easy walk. Optional transport by bus is offered at approx. DKK 25 per person one way. To be paid directly on the spot.
