Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive Vilnius
Upon arrival you will be met and taken to your hotel. Remainder of the day is at leisure to relax or begin your exploration of the Lithuanian capital. Overnight in Vilnius.

Day 2 Vilnius-Trakai-Vilnius
This morning you will be taken on a tour of the city that has been the Lithuanian capital for more than 600 years that includes St. Anne's Church, Gates of Dawn, University campus and St. Peter and Paul's Church. This afternoon you will be taken on an excursion to Trakai, the former capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Visit the insular castle built during the 14th cenury and erected on a small island in the middle of Lake Galve. For ages it served as a defensive structure and residence of Lithuanian Grand Dukes. Overnight in Vilnius

Day 3 Vilnius-Kaunas
Departure to Kaunas, the interim capital of Lithuania between the two World Wars, an example of a confluence of people and cultures, an attractive blend of architecture and nature. The town has seen many ups and downs, but has stayed a source of public disobedience and a guard of national identity during soviet times. En route a stop at the Rumsiskes Open-air Ethnographic Museum near Kaunas will be made. The Museum exhibits architecture, traditions, crafts and the way of life of farmers at the end of the 18th – 19th centuries. Afternoon tour of Kaunas includes the Old Town and an excursion to Ciurlionis Art Gallery and Devils' Museum. Overnight in Kaunas

Day 4 Kaunas-Hill of Crosses-Klaipeda
Morning drive to Klaipeda, Lithuania's window to the Baltic Sea and the main city of the country's coastline. En route visit to the Hill of Crosses near Siauliai, the place of expressing gratitude to god for divine favors. Afternoon city tour of Klaipeda focuses on the Old Town with its Theater Square dominated by the statue of a girl Ann from Tharau, narrow alleyways with attractive courtyards, art galleries, cafes and small boutiques, blocks of lattice-work buildings, old warehouse reflecting the influence of Germanic architecture of the Hanseatic period. Overnight in Klaipeda

Day 5 Klaipeda-Curonian Spit-Klaipeda
Full day sightseeing in Neringa (UNESCO site), the Spit between the Curonian Lagoon and the Baltic Sea, north of Klaipeda. Visits to the Hill of Witches in Juodkrante and to the majestic dunes in Nida, the Lithuanian sea resorts of serene beauty, giving pleasure to your soul. Overnight in Klaipeda.

Day 6 Klaipeda-Palanga-Vilnius
Morning drive to Palanga, the most popular sea resort among the locals. Visit to the Amber Museum, the best place to learn the history of amber, the Baltic gold, 40-50 million years old. Late afternoon drive back to Vilnius for overnight.

Day 7 Vilnius-End of Tour
After breakfast you will be taken to the airport, rail or bus station. You may extend your stay in Vilnius or continue to Latvia, Poland, Belarus, Estonia or Russia.
