Spa Stay in Sovata

Depart:
Independent Spa Vacation-Land Only

Daily April 1-December 20

Nestled in the hidden valley of the Carpathian Mountains, lies the spa resort of Sovata. This is probably one of the most natural, un-spolit regions left in Europe. Ancient forests, villages and folklore create a truly magical atmosphere. This region is rich in mountainous scenery, untouched nature, fairytale castles, turrets and churches. In addition there are some truly breathtaking geographical monuments, such as the Bicaz Canyon and its surrounding areas.

The spa is situated right next to Bear Lake, the only helio-thermal lake in Europe. Because of its high salt content and resulting floating effect it is often referred to as the “Dead Sea” of Transylvania. This remarkable lake with its curative salt water have attracted visitors for decades. At the turn of the last century, picturesque wooden villas sprung up around the lake and are still intact today, giving the town a unique atmosphere.

Salt is the heart of the therapies in Sovata, famous for its anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. The salt water and the medical mud, from the lake, make up the basis of the spa treatments. The health spa center is focused around a warm indoor salt bath containing water from the lake. Individual salt baths are also available as well as medical mud-packs. Not only are the treatments effective for arthritis, rheumatism and mobility disorders, but these special natural resources are also extremely successfully used to treat some skin conditions. The original Inca settlement constituted an administrative, religious, agricultural and military complex. Overnight in Cuzco.
