Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive Dubrovnik
Upon arrival at the airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure to relax or begin your visit of this historic city on the Adriatic and one of Europe’s best preserved European walled city. Dinner and overnight Hotel Lacroma or Hotel Argosy or Hotel Lapad.
Day 2 Dubrovnik
Enjoy a walking tour of “Old Dubrovnik.” Visit the Franciscan Monastery, housing one of the world’s oldest pharmacies, the old harbor, St. Laurence Fortress and the Sponza and Rector’s Palaces. Afternoon at leisure to shop or relax in one of the city’s many cafes. Overnight Hotel Lacroma or Hotel Argosy or Hotel Lapad.
Day 3 Dubrovnik-Split
This morning depart Dubrovnik and travel north along the spectacular Adriatic coast, past quaint fishing villages and newly built resorts to Split. A city tour provides a look at this city’s Roman heritage, Renaissance and Gothic structures and its contemporary attractions. Dinner and overnight Hotel Atrium.
Day 4 Split-Trogir-Plitvice Lakes National Park
Continue north along the coast, to Trogir, a center of artistic activities, where scholars from around the world gather to study and paint. Arrive at the Plitvice Lakes National Park. Upon arrival you will be taken on a walking tour around the lower lakes. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery of this natural wonder of 16 terraced lakes surrounded by thickly wooded mountains and lush vegetation. Dinner and overnight Hotel Jezero.
Day 5 Plitvice Lakes-Opatija-Postojna Caves-Bled
Today you will return to the coast and travel along the beautiful bay of Kvarner to its popular resort, Optaija. After some free time, journey north to Postojna, home to one of the largest caves in Europe. Tour the fantastic subterranean world by miniature electric train. Afterwords, continue to Bled, beautifully set amidst the Julian Alps. Dinner and overnight Hotel Park or Hotel Rikli Balance.
Day 6 Bled
After breakfast you will be taken on a tour of the charming town of Bled with the lake shore, and imposing Bled Castle which is perched on a cliff high above the lake. The remainder of the day is at leisure to relax around the lake or take an optional visit to the small island in the middle of the lake. Overnight in Bled.
Day 7 Bled-Ljubljana-Zagreb
After breakfast you will drive to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia for a walking tour. You will see the picturesque open-air Central Market, the Three Bridges, Baroque Town Hall and the Robba’s Fountain. Continue to Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. Dinner and overnight Hotel Westin or Hotel Sheraton.
Day 8 Zagreb
After breakfast you will enjoy a tour of Zagreb featuring visits to the historic Upper Town to see St. Mark’s Church and St. Catherine’s Church, the Cathedral, Parliament and the Government Palace. Overnight Hotel Westin or Hotel Sheraton.
Day 9 Zagreb
After breakfast you will be taken to the airport or you may extend your stay in the beautiful Croatian capital or continue to Serbia or Austria.
