Itinerary

Day 1 La Paz
Upon arrival you will be met at the airport and taken to your hotel. Remainder of the day is at leisure to adjust to the altitude and begin your exploration of the beautiful Bolivian capital. Overnight Hotel Europa or similar.

Day 2 La Paz-Tiwanaku Ruina-Huatajata
After breakfast pick up from hotel in La Paz and transfer to the Tiwanaku Ruins(1.580 BC-1.000 AD). The magnificent ruins of Bolivia and one of the oldest civilizations in the Americas. The Sun Gate, the Temple of Kalasasaya and the Pyramid of Akapana are samples of a glorious past. Tiwanaku culture was an agrarian based economy with an estimated population of 115,000 inhabitants. The state controlled agriculture produced the surplus wealth to support the urban center and administrative system. They were outstanding in agriculture, hydraulic architecture & medicine, as well as in social organization. Due to an economical crisis caused by a long dry season, Tiwanaku collapsed around 1.000 AD. Lunch at the La Cabana del Puma restaurant where you will taste the local food. After lunch continue to Huatajata, on the shores of Lake Titicaca. The road runs parallel to the Royal Range of the Andes. Arrive Huatajata to experience the Andean Roots Eco Village: The Altiplano Museum, where a state of the art audio system will inform in your own language the cultural heritage of the Aymaras and the Incas, the colonial time and Jacques Cousteau Expedition to Lake Titicaca. Handicrafts and fisherman villages, the Mud Igloos of the Uru Chipayas; meet the Limachi brothers, builders of the RA II and Tigris for Thor Heyerdhal epic expeditions across the Atlantic Ocean. Audiovisual and night visit to The Mystic World of the Kallawayas, natural healers of Bolivia authorized by law to practice natural medicine. They believe that you first have to heal the soul in order to heal your body. “Tata Benjo”, our Kallawaya will bless you and answer questions by casting his sacred coca leaves. Welcome drink & Candlelight dinner (taste the trout of Lake Titicaca). Night visit to the Native Observatory “Alajpacha”; learn from the Aymaras cosmovision & Southern constellations, just unforgettable. Overnight at the “Inca Utama Hotel & Spa

Day 3 Huatajata-Lake Titicaca-La Paz
After breakfast hydrofoil cruise to Copacabana, visit the Sanctuary and the local market. Continue to Moon Island, visit the Sun Virgins Temple I�ak Uyu. Continue to Sun Island, visit the Inca Staircase & Sacred fountain, taste the sacred water believed to give eternal youth and happiness. Lunch at the “Uma Kollu” archaeological restaurant and visit a picturesque handicraft market.Hydrofoil cruise to Huatajata.Bus transfer from Huatajata to La Paz. Drop off at your hotel at 7.30pm approximately Overnight at the Hotel Europa or similar.

Day 4 La Paz-Tarija
After breakfast pick up from your hotel and transfer to the airport to take the flight to Tarija (not included). Upon arrival you will be met and taken to your hotel Lunch inlcuded. After lunch Half day city tour of the area. Visit La Casa Dorada, Museo Paleontologico, Museo de San Francisco and the El Castillo Azul. Overnight at the Parrales Hotel or similar.

Day 5 Tarija-Wine Tour Tarija
After breakfast pick up from your hotel for a tour of the wine route. Visit the Santa Ana, La Concepcion and Calamuchita valleys, here you Hill find the most important wineries. Continue to the modern facilities of Campos de Solana, where you will learn about the fascinating world of wine and the tasting techniques. Continue to The Kohlberg, here you will have a spectacular view from the vineyards Visit the Singanis Casa Real cellar and the Concepcion Valley. Lunch and wine tasting (with typical music). After lunch return to Tarija visiting on route the Canyon de La Angostura and other wineries. Overnight at the Parrales Hotel or similar.

Day 6 Tarija
After breakfast pick up from your hotel to visit La Campina Chapaca. Visit the town of San Lorenzo, the church and the typical market. Arrive to Coimata, you will enjoy the natural waterfalls, continue to San Jacinto and taste the fish you can find in the area such us misquinchitos, carpas, doraditos, churumas and cangrejitos. Lunch included today. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight at the Parrales Hotel or similar.

Day 7 Tarija-La Paz
After breakfast you will be taken from your hotel to the airport for your flight to La Paz (not included). Upon arrival you will be met and taken to your hotel This evening you will enjoy dinner with folklore show. Overnight at the Hotel Europa or similar.

Day 8 La Paz
After breakfast pick up from your hotel for your city tour of La Paz and the Moon Valley. The city of La Paz and its surroundings can transport you to a mysterious past where any corner, any street, is a hidden treasure where adventure begins; a living history which treasures the pre Hispanic times with all their traditions and magic rites on its streets. The indigenous, colonial and modern areas, Indian Market, Witch Doctor’s Market & breathtaking panoramas are all framed by the majestic “Illimani” mountain. Visit the Moon Valley, a clay formation resembling the face of the Moon. Enjoy the famous saltenas while on the tour. Continue visiting the popular markets: Uruguay and Lanza, where you will have the chance to know what and where the local people eat. Return to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at the Hotel Europa or similar.

Day 9 La Paz-End of Tour
After breakfast you will be taken to the airport. You can extend your stay in La Paz or continue with a tour to Peru, Chile or Argentina.

Visa is needed for Bolivia and is not included. $160 per person to be issued upon arrival.
