Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive Dubrovnik
Upon arrival you will be met and taken to your hotel. Remainder of the day is at leisure to begin your exploration of this historic city on the Adriatic. Dinner and overnight Hotel Ivka or similar.

Day 2 Dubrovnik-Budva-Shkodra-Tirana
This morning you will be taken on a tour of Dubrovnik that includes the Franciscan Monastery with Europe’s third oldest pharmacy, the Rector’s Palace and the Cathedral. Depart to Tirana, via Budva, known for its beautiful Old Town encircled by walls from the Venetian period, crossing the Albanian border at Shkodra, once the capital of the Illyrian Kingdom (3rd century B.C.) Dinner and overnight Hotel Sky Tower in Tirana or similar.

Day 3 Tirana-Ohrid
After breakfast you will be taken on a tour of Tirana, capital of Albania, including Skenderbey Square, the Mosque of Ethem Bay and the National Museum representing the flow of Albanian history and housing the finds from archeological sites across the country. Afternoon departure to Ohrid, driving via Elbasan and crossing the Macedonian border at Cafasan. Overnight Hotel Metropol or similar.

Day 4 Ohrid
Full day at the lakeside resort of Ohrid classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Cultural Site. Through the activity of St. Clement and St. Naum of Ohrid, the first pan-Slavic University in Europe, the famous “Ohrid Literary School,” was founded here. Morning sightseeing tour includes the church of St. Sofia from the 11th century, the most eminent medieval monument in Macedonia with the magnificent Byzantine fresco paintings and St. Clement Church with its Icon of Annunciation. In the afternoon short drive to visit the St. Naum Monastery built on the shores of Lake Ohrid in 900 A.D., dedicated to Slavic missionary and educator St. Naum of Ohrid. Dinner and overnight Hotel Metropol or similar.

Day 5 Ohrid-Skopje
Morning departure to Skopje, the capital of Macedonia. Upon arrival you will be taken on a tour of the city that includes, the Kale Fortress, Church of the Holy Savior with its Iconography, one of the finest examples of traditional walnut woodcarving, Old Bazaar and the Stone Bridge. Drive to the slopes of the Vodno Mountain where you visit the Monastery of St. Panteleimon with its 12th century iconography and frescoes. It is ranked among the highest achievements of Byzantine art of this period. Dinner and overnight Hotel Karpos or similar.

Day 6 Skopje-Kolasin
Morning departure to Kolasin, driving via Pec and Berane and along the impressive Moraca River Canyon. Afternoon arrival at Kolasin in Montenegro, located on the left bank of the Tara River. The area is surrounded by the thick pine forest of the Bjelasica Mountain and is a popular spa resort. Dinner and overnight Hotel Bianca or similar.

Day 7 Kolasin-Cetinje-Kotor-Dubrovnik
Morning departure to Cetinje where you visit the King Nicholas Museum, once residence of the Montenegrin King Nicholas I Petrovic. Continue to Kotor, which is on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list. In Kotor you will visit the Cathedral, dedicated to St. Triphun, the city’s patron saint. Later drive to Dubrovnik, along the picturesque Bay of Kotor. Dinner and overnight in Dubrovnik Hotel Ivka or similar.

Day 8 Dubrovnik-End of Tour
After breakfast you will be taken to the airport or you can extend your stay in Dubrovnik or continue with more visits of beautiful Croatia.
