Itinerary

Day 1 Santiago
Upon arrival at the airport of Santiago de Chile you will be transferred to your hotel. Santiago de Chile is a city of contrasts with remains of its colonial past to the ultramodern, high-rise buildings of the financial center; Chile’s capital city will surprise you. later you will enjoy a tour that begins with the visit of the church San Francisco, which was built between 1572 and 1618. You will pass through the Barrio Paris & Londres which is characterized by its European architectural style and its narrow cobbled street. Then you will pass by the sector of Club Hipico, one of the most beautiful horse racing tracks in South America, privileged by its architecture of the early centuries. Continuing your tour to the Barrio Concha y Toro where you will immediately notice that the constructions of the buildings are very similar to those in the Barrio Paris y Londres. While walking through the main street you will see the vestiges of the aristocratic past of the capital. In 1989 this district was declared as “Zona Tipica”. You will be impressed by the Gothic, neocolonial and Bauhaus constructions. After that you will visit the Plaza de Armas and the cathedral. Just around the corner, you will find the main post office, the National History museum, the Metropolitana and the town hall of Santiago. From here you head along the famous Alameda, Santiago’s colorful main avenue, to the heart of the city, seeing the “Palacio de la Moneda” (seat of government), various monuments and public buildings. Afterwards, you continue the tour by driving up to the San Cristobal Hill. From one of the hill’s view points, you will have the finest views of Santiago and the Andes Mountains. To round off the tour, you will pass through the modern residential areas of the city with their daring architecture and, finally, the bustling Providencia shopping zone. Overnight in Santiago.

Day 2 Santiago
After breakfast you will enjoy a full day at leisure or you can take an optional excursion to Valparaiso and Vina del Mar. The tour leaves Santiago in the western direction. Arriving in Valparaiso, you pass by the main square where you can view the monument honoring the Naval Battle fought in 1879. Driving towards the southern side of the city and seeing the old funiculars you will drive up a hillside for a most spectacular view of the bay seeing Valparaiso’s downtown district and its adjoining hills. Then proceed to the lower level of the city through the commercial heart of the port, where you’ll take the coastal highway that links Valparaiso with the resort city of Vina del Mar. Reaching the Concon beach, you can admire various fish stands displaying a great variety of seafood. Summer homes and restaurants are spread out along the coast. Afterwards, visit the main square Plaza Vergara and the shopping avenue before returning to Santiago. Overnight in Santiago.

Day 3 Santiago-Puerto Montt-Puerto Varas
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Puerto Montt (not included). Arrival and reception by your guide and transfer to the hotel in Puerto Varas, situated some 12 miles away. Puerto Varas The “city of roses”; overlooks Lago Llanquihue, one of Chile’s largest lake where the reflection of the eternally snow covered Osorno Volcano is mirrored in the clear waters. You drive along the “Costanera” (coastal road) and see Puerto Varas Main Square with its gardens and the monument in honor of Vicente Perez Rosales, the region’s founding father. The rest of the day at leisure. Overnight Puerto Varas.

Day 4 Puerto Varas
You cannot leave Chile without sailing on the wonderful Todos los Santos Lake, with its emerald colored waters and its surrounding forests. First, you visit the world renowned Petrohue Waterfalls, that flow into a river that runs through beautiful rock formations. Also discover Peulla, a small ecological village of 120 inhabitants, which is on the route of the famous Andean Crossing. After visiting the Petrohue Waterfalls, you will then enjoy a two-hour boat trip on Todos los Santos Lake, taking in the views of the majestic Osorno, Puntiagudo and Tronador Volcanoes. However, the adventure does not end when you arrive at Peulla, as there you can choose to take part in a large variety of optional activities such as canopying, horse riding, and a 4×4 safari, all in a stunning setting that will take your breath away. Afterwards you will be transferred back to your hotel. Overnight Puerto Varas.

Day 5 Puerto Varas
Full day at leisure. The following optional tour can be booked. Chiloe Castro y Dalcahue, on shared basis. A full day tour visiting the northern part of the mythical island of Chiloe, its stilted houses, its markets and the churches declared as World Heritage sites by Unesco. A full day tour leaving from Puerto Varas. In order to delve into the Chilote world, you begin your day by taking a boat down the Chacao Canal for 30 minutes, where you spot a wide variety of birds before arriving to the village of Chacao to visit its square and church. Continue on to Castro to stop for lunch. Then, visit the stilted houses of Rio Gamboa, the square and its church which was declared a Unesco World Heritage site. Next, you will visit the recently restored Nercon Church (1890), which is a national monument and is also on Unesco’s protected list. The day continues in Dalcahue, where you stop on the waterfront to take in the wonderful natural landscape and visit the local artisan market, museum and church. Afterwards return back to your hotel. Overnight Puerto Varas.

Day 6 Puerto Varas-Puerto Montt-Punta Arenas
Transfer from the Hotel in Puerto Varas to the airport in Puerto Montt. On route you will have a sightseeing tour of Puerto Montt, which was founded by German settlers in 1852, whose influence still remains in the style of the wooden houses. You will pass along the “Costanera” Avenue and continue to the observation point for a beautiful view of the city, Reloncavi Bay, Tenglo Island and channels. Afterwards, you will pass through the town’s center with its typical square and its cathedral, the oldest building in the region. You will also visit Angelmo, the traditional fish and seafood market in the port. At the end you will be transferred to the airport. Flight to Punta Arenas. Arrival at the airport of Punta Arenas and transfer to your hotel. Overnight Punta Arenas.

Day 7 Punta Arenas-Torres del Paine National Park
In the morning half day city tour of Punta Arenas. Punta Arenas is the southernmost continental town of South America, founded in 1848 at the shores of the Magellan Strait. You begin the tour heading uphill along Avenida Independencia seeing many monuments that were placed here. After 10 minutes, you reach Cerro La Cruz, a vantage point offering a sweeping view of Punta Arenas colorful roofs, the Straits of Magellan and Tierra del Fuego Island in the background. Afterwards you return back to your hotel. At around 1.30pm you will be picked up from your hotel by a vehicle from the Hotel Rio Serrano which drives you right into the spectacular National Park Torres del Paine, passing through the wideness of the Patagonian steppe with its huge sheep farms and beech woods contrasting with the mostly unadorned landscape. Arrival at the hotel in the evening. Dinner at the hotel. Overnight Torres del Paine National Park.

Day 8 Torres del Paine National Park
Full day at leisure with many tours of the park you can take. Overnight on a full board basis at the park.

Full day at leisure with many tours of the park you can take. Overnight on a full board basis at the park.

Day 10 Torres del Paine- Punta Arenas-Santiago
Transfer to the Punta Arenas airport. Return flight to Santiago (not included). Upon arrival in Santiago transfer to your hotel. Remainder of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Santiago.

Day 11 Santiago-End of Tour
After breakfast transfer to the airport. You can extend your say in Santiago or continue to the Atacama Desert, Easter Island, Mendoza or Buenos Aires.
