Itinerary

Day 1 Puno-Lake Titicaca
Pick you up at your hotel in Puno and start the program with an overland trip by 4X4 jeep to Copacabana on Lake Titicaca. Walking tour around in Copacabana, the gate to Bolivia and board a hydrofoil to Moon Island for an archaeological trek. Continue to Sun Island and walk to the Pilcocaina Sun Temple and start a fantastic llama trek to Posada del Inca Eco-Lodge, in the most bucolic scenery of the Andes. After lunch, explore this mythical Island, with surprising cultural and natural treasures. Dinner and overnight at the Posada del Inca lodge.

Day 2 Lake Titicaca-La Paz
After breakfast continue to Sun Island, visit the Inca Staircase & Sacred fountain, taste the sacred water believed to give eternal youth & happiness. Lunch at the “Uma Kollu” archaeological restaurant Visit to the small handicraft market. Hydrofoil cruise to Huatajata. Arrive to Huatajata to experience the Andean Roots Eco Village: The Altiplano Museum, where an audio system explains in your own language the cultural heritage of the Aymaras and the Incas, the colonial time and Jacques Cousteau Expedition to Lake Titicaca. Handicrafts and fisherman villages, the Mud Igloos of the Uru Chipayas; meet the Limachi brothers, builders of the RA II and Tigris for Thor Heyerdhal epic expeditions across the Atlantic Ocean. Overnight at the Hotel Presidente in La Paz.

Day 3 La Paz
After breakfast visit the Tiwanaku Ruins. (1.580 BC-1.000 AD) Magnificent ruins in Bolivia and one of the oldest civilizations in the Americas, antedating the Christian era. The Sun gate, the temple of Kalasasaya, the pyramid of Akapana and Puma Punku, are the examples of a glorious past. Tiwanaku civilization was an agrarian based economy with an estimated population of 115.000 Aymaras. The state-controlled agriculture produced the surplus wealth to support the urban center and administrative system. Massive hydraulic projects controlled the waters. They were outstanding in agriculture, hydraulic, architecture & medicine knowledge, as well as in social organization. Due to an economical crisis caused by a long dry season, Tiwanaku collapsed around 1.000 AD.In the afternoon you will be taken on a city tour that includes the Moon valley. La Paz and its surroundings will transport you to a mysterious past where any corner, any street, is a hidden treasure where adventure begins, a living history which can not release the pre Hispanic times with all their traditions and magic rites spread out in the streets: Native, colonial and modern areas, Indian Market, Open Air Museum of Tiwanaku, Witch Doctor’s Market & breathtaking panoramas framed by the majestic “Illimani”. Overnight at Hotel Presidente.

Day 4 La Paz-Yungas Valley-Coroico-La Paz
Today you will enjoy a full day tour to the tropical valleys of Yungas. In only two hours, you cross the glacial line and wind down into the Amazon Mountain Jungle. Coroico is a typical town with a unique blend of Indian and Black cultures. A favorite tropical vacation spot for locals & visitors. Lunch at a local Hotel included. In the afternoon return to La Paz . Overnight at Hotel Presidente

Day 5 La Paz City Tour-End of Tour
After breakfast at leisure until your departure transfer to the airport. You can extend your stay in Bolivia or you can continue to Chile, Paraguay or Argentina.
