Itinerary

Day 1 Frankfurt-Rothenburg
Depart Frankfurt for a picturesque drive through the Spessart Mountains to Wurzburg, on the banks of the Main River. Continue on the Romantic Road to Rothenburg o.d.t., Germany’s “Jewel of the Middle Ages” with its ramparts, city gates, town hall and Jakobskirche (church)with an alter carved by the famous woodcarver Tilman Riemenschneider. Upon arrival in Rothenburg, a taxi will take you to your hotel. In the afternoon or evening enjoy a city walk with a local guide or the historic Night Watchman. Overnight Hotel Spitzweg or Hotel Goldene Rose or similar.

Day 2 Rothenburg-Munich
After breakfast a taxi will take you from the hotel to the bus stop. Your coach drives along the Romantic Road passing such picturesque places as Dinkelsbuhl, Nordlingen and Donauworth, with their high gabled houses and cobbled streets. Via Augsburg, a metropolis during the Roman times and famous for old trade dynasties during the Middle Ages, you reach Munich, where the tour ends around 5pm. Hotel nights in Munich can be added.

This tour is available in reverse order-depart Munich at 8am-arrive Frankfurt at 8pm.
