Itinerary

Day 1 Frankfurt-Rothenburg
Depart from Frankfurt for a picturesque drive through the Spessart Mountains, to Wurzburg, on the banks of the Main River. Continue on the Romantic Road to Rothenburg o.d.t., Germany’s well preserved “Jewel of the Middle Ages” with its ramparts, city gates, town hall and Jakobskirche (church) with an alter carved by the famous woodcarver Tilman Riemenschneider. Upon arrival in Rothenburg, a taxi will take you to your hotel. In the afternoon or evening enjoy a city walk with a local guide or the historic Night Watchman. Overnight Hotel Spitzweg or Hotel Goldene Rose or similar.

Day 2 Rothenburg-Augsburg
After breakfast a taxi will pick you up from the hotel and take you to the bus stop. Your coach drives along the Romantic Road passing such picturesque places as Dinkelsbuhl, Nordlingen and Donauworth with their high gabled houses and cobbled streets. Arrive Augsburg in the early afternoon. Overnight Hotel Intercity or Hotel Augusta or similar.

Day 3 Augsburg-Munich
After breakfast, you are invited to enjoy a city tour at 10.00 am, starting at the City Hall. You will get to know all important sights of Augsburg, which is famous for old trading dynasties (the Fuggers). In the late afternoon, you re-board the coach to Munich arrive about 7pm. Overnight at InterCity Hotel or Hotel Leonardo Residenz or similar.

Day 4 Munich-Zugspitze-Munich
In the morning self transfer to the rail station for your train ride to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. From there take a cable car up to Germany’s highest peak. Enjoy the breathtaking view from the Zugspitze. In the afternoon return to Munich by train. Overnight Hotel Intercity or Hotel Leonardo Residenz or similar.

Day 5 Munich-End of Tour
Tour ends after breakfast. You can extend your stay in Munich or continue to Berlin, Austria or Switzerland.

Hotel nights in Frankfurt and additional nights in Munich available.

This tour can be taken in reverse and ends in Frankfurt approx. 8pm.
