Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive Vilnius
Upon arrival to Vilnius you will be met and taken to your hotel. Remainder of the day is at leisure to begin your exploration of the Lithuanian capital. This evening you will meet your fellow travelers at a welcome meeting. Overnight Hotel Novotel Vilnius Center or similar.

Day 2 Vilnius-Trakai-Vilnius
This morning you will be taken on a tour of Vilnius that includes the historical Old Town with the Vilnius Cathedral and its square, the University campus, Pilies Street with its 16th-18th century historical and architectural monuments, the Gothic corner of Vilnius with St. Anne’s and Bernardine churches, the former Town Hall square, the Gates of Dawn with a miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary and the 17th century Baroque church of St. Peter and Paul. In the afternoon you will enjoy an excursion to Trakai, the ancient capital of Lithuania. Today the area is famous for its 15th century insular castle located on an island in the middle of Lake Galve. The castle now houses an exhibition of prehistoric findings and 17th-18th century applied art as well as exhibitions depicting the way of life of the Lithuanian Grand Dukes and of the Karaites, a Judaistic sect brought to the area by Grand Duke Vytautas from the Crimea. Day 3 Vilnius-Hill of Crosses-Rundale Palace-Riga
Departure to Riga with stops on the way at the Hill of Crosses, a unique place of national pilgrimage, and after crossing the border to Latvia, at the impressive Baroque Rundale Palace designed by the Italian architect B. Rastrelli and was home of the Duke of Kurland. Late afternoon arrival to Riga, the capital of Latvia. Overnight Hotel Radisson Blu Latvija or similar.

Day 4 Riga
Morning walking tour of the Old Town of Riga which includes the 13th century St. Peter’s Church, St. George’s Church, St. John’s Church, the 14th century Riga Castle, the Big and Small Guild houses, the medieval “Three Brothers” house and the Dome Square with its famous Dome Cathedral boasting one of the biggest organs in Europe. Afternoon is at leisure to shop of handicrafts or relax in one of the city’s many charming cafes. Overnight Hotel Radisson Blu Latvija or similar.

Day 5 Riga-Gauja National Park-Tallinn
After breakfast you will drive along the Bay of Riga to Tallinn. On the way a stop will be made at the Gauja National Park to visit the Turaida Castle which dates back to the 13th century. Later afternoon arrival to Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. Overnight Hotel Nordic Forum or similar.

Day 6 Tallinn
This morning you will be taken on a tour of Tallinn and its Old Town including the Song Festival Grounds, Catherine’s Valley and Park, Toompea Hill, Parliament building, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Dome Cathedral, and the Town Hall Square, a Gothic masterpiece from the 13th-14th centuries. Afternoon is at leisure. Overnight Hotel Nordic Forum or similar.

Day 7 Tallinn-End of Tour
After breakfast you will be taken to the airport or you can extend your stay in Tallinn. You may also continue with a tour of beautiful St. Petersburg or cosmopolitan Helsinki.
