Itinerary
Day 1 Zurich
Upon arrival in Zurich you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Remainder of the day is at leisure. Overnight at the Hotel Swissotel Zurich or similar.
Day 2 Zurich
Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Zurich and its main monuments. Take in fabulous views of the Alps and Lake Zurich from the Hohenstrasse. Stop briefly in Rapperswil, the quaint City of Roses. On your way back to Zurich you enjoy a lovely cruise on Lake Zurich (no guide). Arrival at Zurich-Burkliplatz. Make your own way back to the hotel. Overnight at the Hotel Swissotel Zurich or similar.
Day 3 Zurich-Lucerne-Mount Titlis-Interlaken
Departure for Lucerne. Short sightseeing tour and free time to explore on your own. At noon continue to Engelberg. Take the rotating Rotair cable car to the top of Mount Titlis and its spectacular glacier. From an elevation of 3.020 m, you can enjoy spectacular views of the Central Alps. In the afternoon continue to Brienz and visit the local wood carvers. Your next destination is Interlaken at the foot of Mount Jungfrau.Overnight at the Hotel Interlaken or similar.
Day 4 Interlaken-Bern-Gruyeres-Geneva
From Interlaken drive along Lake Thun to Bern. After a sightseeing tour of the city, continue to Gruyeres, a picturesque village with its impressive medieval castle. Overnight in cosmopolitan Geneva. Overnight at the Hotel Ramada Encore or similar.
Day 5 Geneva-Montreux-Zermatt
Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Geneva and visit the beautiful parks along the lake, the cathedral and the European headquarters of the UN. Then travel to Lausanne and Montreux, passing the magnificent Chillon Castle. In the afternoon travel up the Rodano river valley as far as Tasch. From here you continue by narrow gauge train to Zermatt, nestled at the foot of mighty Mount Matterhorn. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel Alex or similar.
Day 6 Zermatt-Zurich
In the morning you are free to explore at your leisure or take an optional excursion to the top of Mount Gornegrat (not included). In the afternoon you return to Tasch where you board the bus for a spectacular drive over the high Nufenen mountain pass to Airolo. Continue to Zurich where you arrive around 6.30pm. . Overnight at the Hotel Swissotel Zurich or similar.
Day 7 Zurich-End of Tour
Tour ends after breakfast. Self transfer to airport or you can extend your stay in Switzerland or continue to Italy or Austria.
