Itinerary

Day 1 Vilnius
Upon arrival in Vilnius you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure to relax or begin your exploration of the Lithuanian capital. Overnight in Vilnius.

Day 2 Vilnius-Trakai-Vilnius
Morning Vilnius city tour including visits to the medieval as well as modern areas of the city. See the Grand Cathedral of Peter and Paul, the small church of St. Anna, a gem of Gothic architecture and the University of Vilnius. In the afternoon You will be taken to the medieval capital of Lithuania, Trakai, located on Lake Galve. On the beautifully situated island in the middle of the lake there is the 14th century red brick castle which now houses a history museum. Overnight in Vilnius.

Day 3 Vilnius-Hill of Crosses-Rundale Palace-Riga
After breakfast departure by coach to Riga. En route visit the interesting Hill of Crosses which has a thousand crosses left by pilgrims and the splendid 18th century Rundale Palace, former summer residence of the Duke of Kurland. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant. Overnight in Riga.

Day 4 Riga
After breakfast you will be taken on a tour of the capital of Latvia. The Old Town will delight you with the colorfully restored merchants residences, the cozy beer cellars and cafes, historical monuments like the Dome Cathedral, St. Peter’s Church and the Powder Tower. You will also view the masterpieces of early 20th century Art Nouveau architecture. Afternoon is at leisure. Overnight in Riga.

Day 5 Riga-Sigulda-Riga
This morning you will be taken on a tour of Sigulda. Sigulda is often called the “Latvian Switzerland” because of the beauty of its landscape. Visit the 13th century Knight’s Castle, the mysterious Gutmana Cave which is linked to a romantic medieval love legend. Afternoon is at leisure. Overnight in Riga.

Day 6 Riga-Parnu-Tallinn
After breakfast departure by coach to Tallinn. En route visit the Ethnographic Open Air Museum located in the outskirts of Riga to see traditional Latvian rural buildings, the oldest dating from the 17th century. You will view the Baltic Sea Coast and have an orientation tour of the Estonian seaside resort of Parnu before reaching Tallinn. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant on the way to Tallinn. Overnight in Tallinn.

Day 7 Tallinn
After breakfast you will be taken on a tour of the Estonian capital, Tallinn. You will see the medieval Upper and Lower town. In the afternoon you will be taken on a tour of the lovely Kadoring Palace and Park. It was founded in 1721 by the Russian Emperor Peter the Great as a gift for his wife Catherine II as a summer residence. Overnight in Tallinn.

Day 8 Tallinn-End of Tour
After breakfast you will be taken to the airport or you can extend your stay in historic Tallinn. It is possible to add extensions to Helsinki, Stockholm and/or St. Petersburg.

Day 9 

Additional nights in Vilnius and/or Tallinn available.
